Graduate students at SEAS bring both passion and dedication to the field of environmental sustainability, and receive the first-class education for which the University of Michigan is renowned.
But there is no substitute for the kind of expertise that only you can provide.
Here’s How You Can Help: As leaders and accomplished professionals, your experience and insight provides invaluable guidance for our students. When you offer them a mentorship, an internship, or invite them into your network, you’ll find minds eager to learn and prepared to contribute to the world around them.
However you choose to be involved, your guidance will make an impact—toward launching a career, forging a new connection, or inspiring a future thought-leader.
We thank you for considering these options for mentorship, professional development, and work-related opportunities. If you have another suggestion, please let us know. Your ideas—and your input—are always welcome! Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Career Fairs & On-Campus Recruiting
Meet high-achieving students seeking internships and employment opportunities who are interested in learning about your company. Schedule information sessions and interviews on campus, or interact via email, phone, or career-based social media, such as LinkedIn.
We invite your company to submit ideas for a 12-15 month interdisciplinary group project. Working closely with a faculty member, students will assess, analyze and propose solutions to a sustainability challenge or opportunity facing your company.
Share your knowledge online with a virtual presentation. Students appreciate a range of topics related to job search, marketability, and industry trends.
Join an open-forum panel discussion with our current students, virtually or in-person. Questions cover job search, field-of-study specifics, and timely tips.
Help students prepare for one of the greatest job search challenges: acing the interview.
Your critique and input on student resumes is invaluable—and can be given in-person or online.
Lunch Networking Events
Enjoy lunch and career roundtable discussions with a small group of students.
Engage with a student for a full year whose career goals are well matched to your expertise.
Extend your impact—and make the most of your time—by mentoring a pair of students seeking guidance in your field.
Share your knowledge with one-time visits—by answering career-specific questions one-on-one with students.
Shadowing & City Career Trek
Invite a group of SEAS students to your place of employment. Host panel discussions and company tours, or let them shadow you through a workday for a taste of real-life experience.
Spend time immersed in our on-campus community: teach, connect with campus partners, and mentor students. Complement the curriculum by showing how concepts and methods learned in the classroom can be applied in professional situations.
